Science communication – Episode 3 of Scientifica Radio (Podcast).
November 11, 2016 / Author: William Fox C
My first Podcast! Exploring science, more specifically the way it is communicated in the media. I did this podcast with Brite Pauchet, as members of the science podcast collective Scientifica Radio, at CKUT Radio 90.3 FM in Montreal.
We talk about science communication (#scicomm). Interviews come directly from the 2016 Lorne Trottier Symposium held in Montreal on October 17th and 18th.
First of all, we have the famous McGill quackbuster Dr. Joe Schwarcz, aka Dr. Joe. Then, we talked to Joel Achenbach, a senior reporter at the Washington Post. In 2015, he wrote “The War on Science” for the National Geographic. How should journalists cover quacks like Dr. Oz or the Food Babe? Nice question from our next guest: Vox reporter Julia Belluz. Our last interviewee was Erica Johnson, from CBC Marketplace and now Go Public.
Finally, meet Dr. Christopher Labos and Jonathan Jarry on their podcast The Body of Evidence.
